We can act as your external health and safety competent person thereby assisting you and your management team embrace a positive health and safety culture.

It is essential that all organisations embrace a positive health and safety culture.

Work can make a positive or negative contribution to individual health. Physical and mental health can be affected if people are exposed to harm (e.g. through the use of chemicals, by a risk of slips and trips, by carrying out repetitive tasks or being exposed to violent or threatening behaviour). However, if the workplace is safe and if people are interested and involved in their work, job satisfaction can increase and improvements in health and well-being can be realised.

Organisations need to manage health and safety with the same degree of expertise and to the same standards as other core business activities, if they are to effectively control risks and prevent harm to people.

The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 places an obligation on organisations to appoint a competent person (either internal or external) who is competent to assist the responsible person (usually the managing director) in his duty to ensure that the organisation's Health and Safety Policy is implemented and communicated effectively.
